How to add mods to your ARK server

Are you interested in running Mods on your Ark server? Then you are in the right place! Each Ark server offers fully automated mod management which can allows you to install mods in just a few steps. To begin using mods on your ARK server, you will need to gather the IDs of the mods you wish to use from the Steam Workshop.

Locating Steam Workshop Mods for ARK

The Steam Workshop for ARK can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/workshop/

When you have found a mod that you would like to use, take note of the URL of the mod’s description page. This is an example URL: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=632898827


In this case, the mod ID will be 632898827.

Installing Steam Workshop Mods to ARK

  1. Log in to your server control panel.

  2. Power off your server. using the Stop button

  3. Navigate to Configuration->ARK Game User Settings

  4. In the Active Mods field, enter the IDs of the mods you would like to use, separated by commas. In this case, we would enter just the number 632898827.

    1. For example, if we wanted to use two mods and the other ID was 12345, we would enter 632898827,12345 in the active mods field, and continue in that format for any additional mods.

  5. Scroll down and click Save.

  6. You may now start the server, and the mods you have specified in your Active Mods list will automatically be downloaded and installed!

Please note the following regarding ARK mods:

- Mods you have installed client-side will not work on the server if the server does not also have them installed.

- When connecting to the server, ARK will automatically download and install the mods that the server uses to your PC. No need to install them to your PC manually!
