Adding Plugins on a Forge Minecraft Server Print

  • 422

On Forge servers, certain versions of Forge support specific server types allowing for plugins. Below, we will cover what Forge versions support which server types and plugins!

MCPC+ and Cauldron

MCPC+ and Cauldron are server types which can work along side 1.5.2, 1.6.4, and 1.7.10 Forge servers to support Bukkit plugins alongside mods. Not every Forge version for 1.5.2, 1.6.4, and 1.7.10 will support MCPC+ and Cauldron though.

If you would like Cauldron installed, submit a ticket to our Modpacks department! We can check to see if that is compatible and if so, get that installed free of charge!

Sponge

Sponge is a Forge mod made for Forge 1.10.2 - 1.12.2 version servers. Sponge allows for the use of Sponge plugins, found here.

If you would like Sponge installed or need assistance installing this yourself, submit a ticket to our Modpacks department. Sponge may not always be compatible, however, we always test this and will provide you with the results within your ticket!

Fun Fact: Sponge is also extremely useful for diagnosing modpack lag, as Sponge includes timings reports for providing detailed reports of the server's performance including entity count, TPS, chunks loads, and server usage across the server.

Fabric

Fabric is a special server type, allowing for the use of special Fabric mods. Unlike Forge or Bukkit, regular mods and regular Bukkit plugins cannot be used. Fabric mods can be located here!

If you'd like to install Fabric, this can be found directly in our Server Type installer on your control panel.

If you need any assistance, you can submit a ticket for help!
